Dr. Andrew Ali Aghapour
Andrew Ali Aghapour is a scholar and storyteller living in Durham, North Carolina, and a producer for Religion for Breakfast. Andrew holds an M.Phil in the History and Philosophy of Science from Cambridge University and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he focused on religion, science, and the brain. As the Consulting Scholar of Religion and Science for the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, Andrew helped develop “Discovery and Revelation,” an exhibition and book about religion and science in American history. He also wrote Runaway Robot, an interactive educational video game about a robotic monk looking for its home. Andrew is also an award-winning comedian and storyteller whose one-person show Zara is about immigration and identity in the American South. He is a writer and editor who has covered stories about religion and science for outlets including Slate, On Being, Religion Dispatches, and the Revealer.
